A Letter from Dan & Kelly

Hi! It’s always been our hope to have a big family, and we’re excited and ready to welcome a child through adoption. As a couple, we’re all about music, Disney, travel, creativity, football, faith, and staying connected with loved ones. After years of infertility it’s clear this is the path for us to build a family. We would be honored to get to know you and to be considered as adoptive parents for your child!

About Us

Kelly shares how we met: We met at a training event when we were both stationed at the same base in the Army. When Dan and his boss were leaving, I had to help them jump start their car. Dan asked me to coffee while I was helping them! Now we’ve been married 8 years and we’re excited to add a child to our lives.

Why we’re adopting: We’ve wanted to raise children for many years and began talking about adoption when we started to have infertility issues. Our hearts have been open to adoption for a long time and we feel strongly this is the path for us to grow our family.

Together we enjoy:
• Golf
• Frisbee
• Building with Legos
• Board games and puzzles
• Trips to Disney
• Traveling
• Playing music together
• Wii Sports video games

About Kelly

I am retired from the Army and have worked different jobs, depending on where we’re stationed. Now I’m a homemaker and look forward to being a stay-at-home mom! I also love helping other military spouses adjust to military life and staying involved in our Catholic community.

According to Dan: My wife is loving, kind, caring, and generous! She is the official family “Christmas elf,” making things magical for our nieces and nephews during the holidays (and beyond!). Kelly has a heart for serving others and loves to volunteer. She will be a wonderful mom who will guide our child with love, compassion, and grace.

Kelly enjoys:
• Baking and cooking
• Singing in church choir
• Playing piano
• Dancing
• Knitting and crochet
• Painting and crafts
• Pilates and Yoga

About Dan

I am a U.S. Army Officer and helicopter pilot. I love to teach others all about helicopters, how the cockpit works, and what I do.

According to Kelly: Dan is sweet, easy-going, patient, and generous with his time and talents. He is always willing to help others and looks for ways to include our friends and family in our lives, even when we live far away. Dan will love sharing his world with a child! He’ll be a loving, affectionate, attentive father who models respect for self and others.

Dan enjoys:
• Playing guitar
• Golf
• Going to aquariums
• Fishing at our cabin in Minnesota
• Video games
• Building Legos
• Frisbee golf

Our Home

Right now we’re stationed in South Korea, although Texas is where we think of home. It’s been fun to explore South Korea, and we have a great apartment in a high-rise complex. There’s a beautiful outdoor space with trees, walking paths, and a playground. We play golf on the nearby golf course and our home is within walking distance to shops, restaurants, and the train station (for more exploring!). We have four bedrooms and look forward to setting up a nursery when we adopt. We love exploring local sites and learning the history where we are stationed.

Our Family

We each have 3 siblings and come from large extended families, so there are lots of cousins for our future child to play with! Dan’s family lives in southern Minnesota. Kelly’s immediate family is in Texas and New Mexico, with other relatives all over the U.S. We also have a close-knit “Army family” of friends who we’ve spent time with all over the world.

We’re very close with our families and stay in touch, even across countries and time zones. We travel regularly to visit our family too.

Our Promise

We promise to love your child with everything in us. Education is important to us, and we will provide every opportunity for this child to pursue his or her strengths and goals. (The military offers great education benefits!) We will give space for creativity, fun, and exploring, and pass down a strong faith they can lean on.
You will always be spoken of with love and respect. We will raise him or her to understand our family’s adoption story, from early on.

Thank you for considering us as adoptive parents for your child! If you’d like, we will embrace an open adoption relationship with you at your comfort level. We are open to sharing photos, updates, and yearly visits. You would always be a special part of our lives.

We’d love to talk with you! Contact Lifetime to ask about us: call or text Lifetime at 1.800.923.6784.

Thinking of you, Dan & Kelly
