About Us
We were both raised in Christian homes and our faith is an important part of our family. We love living life together! We have been happily married for 7 years. We like to stay active and enjoy taking dance lessons, going on neighborhood walks or hiking trails. In the summertime we enjoy swimming at the pool or local lakes and in the winter we like watching movies by a warm fire, or making bonfires with friends and making smores. We plan a date night at least once a month and enjoy just spending time with each other.
Being parents to our son, Augie, has been one of the greatest joys of our lives. Since we’ve been married we have lived in three different states; Arizona, Virginia, and Texas. We have enjoyed many different adventures. While in Arizona we visited the Grand Canyon, Tombstone, and many local tourist spots that made life fun there. In Virginia, we lived close to Washington DC and got to visit many of the museums and national attractions.
We would love to continue life’s adventures with our children. We feel strongly that we’ve been called to adoption, and we would feel blessed to include your child in our lives.
About Philip
Philip loves his family and his life. He is a man of integrity who is honest, hardworking, and trustworthy. He always puts things in a positive perspective and lives life to the fullest. Philip is a supportive, kind, patient, and understanding husband. He often asks how he can help make my life easier with the everyday tasks. Philip’s boyhood dream was to fly in the U.S. Air Force and he has been living that dream as an Officer in the Air Force for many years. He loves the adventure and camaraderie that exists in the military.
Philip loves music; listening to it, watching it, playing it, and building instruments. He spends his free time playing the guitar in his music studio in the bonus room above the garage, or building guitars and furniture in the garage workshop.
Philip is also a wonderful father. He loves to spend time with Augie. They read books together and have special dad and son moments, including ice cream eating getaways and hiking together. He is our family fun planner and makes our outings interesting. He is looking forward to planning many more trips and outings as our family grows!
About Maritza
Maritza is the love of my life. She is affectionate and the best snuggly movie buddy on cozy weekends. She enjoys teaching and working with elementary grade children. Currently she is a substitute teacher at Augie’s school. She teaches with kindness and patience.
Maritza is a devout Catholic and makes her prayer and worship a priority. One of her favorite pastimes is to participate in church related activities. She loves learning about the Lord and sharing His love, kindness, and compassion with others.
She is a caring, warmhearted mom and is a phenomenal partner raising our son. She is neat and orderly and keeps our house warm and inviting. In her spare time she likes to do jazzercise. Maritza has a large extended family nearby and loves to host family get togethers. She has a lot more love to share with your child!
Our Home in Texas
We live in a traditional, single story 4 bedroom home on a cul-de-sac in a peaceful neighborhood that has many families with children. We have plenty of room in our home to play. It has a nice sized fenced-in back yard with lots of room for outdoor activities and backyard games, including slip-and-slide time in the summer. We love to host get-togethers with family and friends and they have often stated that we have a warm, inviting, and welcoming home.
Our Son
Our son, Augie, is an active, full-of-life 6 year old. He tends to be shy initially, but soon becomes very sociable. He likes to play games with cousins and friends, bike rides, playing outdoors, and swimming. Augie also likes to go on little adventures, such as walking on hiking trails, going to the zoo, and visiting safari parks. Currently one of his biggest joys is playing with our puppy, Duke. He is learning responsibility by taking him for walks, and feeding him. Augie brings us so much joy and we are blessed to be his parents. He will be a great big brother!
Our Extended Family
Some of our travels include making memories with extended family. Philip has two brothers, who each have a boy and girl fairly close in age to Augie, so we have enjoyed meeting them in different destinations. The five cousins love spending time with each other.
Since moving to Texas we have enjoyed countless reunions with Maritza’s family, which include her parents, Maritza’s four siblings, and Augie’s cousins (he loves time with them!).
Our Promise
We feel privileged to have the opportunity to welcome your child into our family. Our commitment for your child will be to provide the best life possible. We will love and care for your child, by providing for their needs in a nurturing way.
They will live in home in which our Catholic faith is practiced. We will take them to church and help them to live out their faith, as they learn values, like being respectful, honorable, kind, compassionate, and honest.
We will encourage their education, help them in their struggles, and be there to support them in all the stages of their life.
We will be honest and open with them as they learn about their adoption story and we are open to continue contact with you after the adoption. If you would like to learn more about us, please call or text Lifetime at 1.800.923.6784.
